Green Gulch

A long-time Family Camper and former Kids Camper and Couselor, Sara Tashker, invited me, and gardening staff (Rachael, Kristin, Hannah and Angel), to come visit her at Green Gulch Zen Center, in Marin, prior to her assumption of head farmer duties. She showed us everything we wanted to see, answered many and varied questions, and treated us to a delightful lunch in the dining room. On the way down, we had to stop at my favorite bakery in Healdsburg, The Downtown Creamery .... and visit my favorite baker in Petaluma (Kashaya, of course!)

Michael's Birthday

Friend Michael Nehm turned 60 in February, which had to be acknowledged, of course! His daughter, Charlotte's boyfriend, Hage, tried many ways to cook the salmon.... including flambeing it! Tom arrived with some bread he made.... and Truston, who was our gardener for a couple of years here on the farm, also came to celebrate the occasion.

Trip to Ashland

Music took me to Ashland in February, where our community choir, The Emandal Chorale, performed alone, and with choirs from as far away as Eugene, Oregon. Living nearby, it was a wonderful opportunity to stop and see Louisa and Paul, former Emandal employees, along with their kids, Wolf and Cody Rose.

New Author
Amy Gorman had her first book published this fall, "Aging Artfully.... 12 Profiles: Visual & Performing Women Artists aged 85-105" I made it to a book signing at the Berkeley Senior Center one afternoon last fall, along with seven (7) of her "groupies." What an inspiration!
Code Pink

Code Pink has made it to Willits! A glorious peace march through town, with speakers and music in the park. Sarah donned her pink wings and joined me at the demonstration.
